sorry seedlings not available after all (as at 24 october)
As our Pauline is currently working at Oasis horticulture (Flower Patch, Vegie Patch, Floriana brands), she has access to vegie and flower seedlings ultra cheap. Sometimes they are "NQR", but a lot of the time they are merely surplus stock or cancelled orders. It's a lucky dip, depending on what's available and what doesn't get snaffled first by the other workers, and of course they're very non-organic and most likely hybrids, (organic purists and seed savers be advised) but would anyone be interested in her bringing a selection to the family "do"? They are 50 cents per punnet which might be 10 baby plants or one advanced seedling, for example. Yes 50 cents per punnet, normally in the shops at least $3 to $4.50. It really is a lucky dip but so far she's got tomatoes(four varieties), lettuce mix, button squash, spinach, capsicum (four varieties), chillies (two varieties), beans(dwarf and climbing), sugarsnap peas, corn, beetroot, silverbeet, cucumbers, celery....Then there's the flowers; petunia, salvia, begonia, viola, lobelia.....Let me know if anyone is interested. I'd be interested Mims and Pauline - sounds like a helpful service to me and a good way to not waste growies! A selection of the vegies mentioned would be great! Looking forward to seeing you at the "do"!
ReplyDeleteMe too - I'm interested in tomatoes, lettuce, silver beet and petunias - preferably shades of purple and white, if that's not too specific! But happy just to browse on the day if I can make it. I do have a clash, but will see what I can do! Love to all, Penny
