Mims NY adventure

Hi all,
Mims reporting back from her adventure to the Big Apple (why do they call it that...anyone know?)

Pam is deeply grateful for the personal introduction to us all, loved the photos, and also provided a lot of info about Ella's adventures as a war bride way back in the '40s.

Ella, though obviously affected by dementia, is physically in excellent health and can get around pretty well, if only she could remember where she is meant to be going. She was very pleased to see someone from Australia who knew the people and places she remembers but could only get as far as identifying that I was related to her, not exactly who I was.

Meanwhile, I had a great time being on holiday; here's a few photos.

    Well done to get this up so quickly Mims! I hope everyone has a look! I specially love the one with you, Ella and Pamela - reminiscent of the family groups at the April 14 gathering!

    fantastic Mims! love all those shots, and yes Ella looks remarkably well, apart from that we cannot see. She's lucky to have Pam and Barry around. Did they enjoy the pics from our stricko gathering? Thanks for reporting - cheers, Greg

      Thanks Greggie for that. Yes, they all enjoyed having a visitor, even Pam's husband Peter was extremely generous and tolerant of having the distant Antipodean relative sleep on the couch in their Manhattan apartment for the duration. They thought the "g'day" posters were hilarious, though we should also have included a greeting for Peter, he is very much part of their family, helping Pam a lot with care of Ella. Barry enjoyed the pics too, and kept a copy of the g'day one and one of us siblings, which he put straight into a frame to sit among the others on his photo shelf. Very successful and definitely worth the jetlag (all better now). Cheers and love Mim
